    Arrive in Johannesburg and transfer to the InterContinental Johannesburg O.R. Tambo Hotel for dinner and overnight. (D)

    Johannesburg / Maun, Botswana / Central Kalahari Game Reserve

    After breakfast at the hotel, board your flight to Maun and connect with our flight to the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. Check in to Tau Pan Camp, your home for three nights. This semi-permanent camp is located inside the reserve, overlooking the remote Tau Pan, which is famous for its stark beauty. Excellent game viewing is possible from the comfort of your tent, including a pride of black-maned lions who often frequent the camp. (B,L,D)

    Central Kalahari Game Reserve

    Explore the park during morning and afternoon game drives and search the mopane woodland for lions, giraffes, kudus, impalas, desert-adapted springboks, jackals, brown hyena bat-eared foxes, herds of wildebeest and a wealth of birdlife such as ostriches, red-crested korhaans, goshawks and dazzling bee-eaters. At night, you have the opportunity to watch the stars from the camp’s sleep-out deck, which offers unobstructed views of the night sky. (B,L,D daily)

    Kwara Concession (Splash Camp)

    Board our charter flight to Splash Camp, situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta in the private Kwara Concession. Each spacious tent faces a large pan where wildlife can be observed both day and night. After settling in, embark on a game-watching activity. (B,L,D)

    Kwara Concession (Splash Camp)

    The Kwara Concession shares an 18-mile water boundary with the famous Moremi Game Reserve and its unique location boasts both permanent water and seasonal flood plains as well as extensive dry bush wilderness. Common sightings include zebras, elephants, giraffes and several species of antelope, which support a healthy population of cheetahs, lions and wild dogs. Explore during game drives, walking safaris, spotlighting excursions and while cruising the Okavango Delta by mokoro (dugout canoe). (B,L,D daily)

    Kwara Concession / Kwando Reserve (Lagoon Camp)

    Enjoy one last game viewing activity and breakfast before boarding your charter flight to the privately-owned Kwando Reserve. Lagoon Camp, nestled beneath towering ebony and marula trees on the banks of the wild Kwando River, is situated adjacent to the headwaters of the Linyanti Marshes that form the boundary between Botswana and Namibia. Each tent offers a spacious living area, en suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers and a private deck overlooking the river. The heavily forested site is home to a wide variety of birds and mammals, with elephant and hippo normally visible from the camp. After settling in, there is time for an evening safari before dinner and overnight at the camp.  (B,L,D)

    Kwando Reserve (Lagoon Camp)

    Explore the area on game drives and river cruises. This part of the Kwando Reserve is known for big game and large herds of elephant and buffalo, especially in the winter months (May to August), when herds of up to a thousand are not uncommon. This vast concentration of game attracts the attention of large predators, such as lions, cheetahs and leopards. There is also a resident wild dog pack that regularly dens close to the camp, making this one of the best places to see wild dogs in Botswana. Seasonally large herds of elephant drink at the river bank near to the camp in full view of the main deck, while playful spotted-necked otters are commonly seen frolicking in the water.     Kwando Reserve / Maun / Johannesburg, South Africa

    On your last day, time permitting, embark on one final game drive. Board our charter flight to Maun to connect with your flight to Johannesburg and your independent homeward flight. (B)

Tau Pan Camp

Tau Pan is the first semi-permanent camp inside the Central Kalahari Game Reserve and offers truly incredible views from the elevated ridge of an ancient sand dune. Unwind in luxurious, eco-friendly suites, which boast lovely and modern en suite bathrooms with al fresco showers. Private verandas overlook the wide expanse of Tau Pan. The viewing deck is perfectly located for good views of the waterhole that’s visited by wildlife daily. Mouth-watering meals are served family style in the elegant dining room, followed by sundowners in the spacious, airy veranda. Additional amenities include a comfortable sitting room, sparkling swimming pool, library and boutique shop.

Splash Camp Botswana

Splash Camp

Splash Camp is situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta, within the Private Kwara Reserve. The area has long been known as Splash due to the huge water crossings that had to be negotiated to access the camp area. Each of the 12 rooms is situated on a deck overlooking the pan which attracts game year-round. All are en suite with a flush toilet, double sinks and both an indoor and an outdoor shower. In addition, each room has a private veranda with outdoor lounge chairs, the perfect place to relax and take in the magnificent views and soak up the atmosphere. The rooms and main area are simply and elegantly decorated with contemporary furniture, complementing the atmosphere of the camp.

Lagoon Camp Botswana

Lagoon Camp

Lagoon is perched on the banks of the wild Kwando River, nestled beneath towering ebony and marula trees. The heavily forested site is home to a wide variety of birds and mammals and elephant and hippo are normally visible from the camp. Lagoon Camp has eight spacious thatched chalets, all connected to the main area via sandy pathways. The chalets are elevated on wooden platforms with large mesh windows overlooking the river, where elephants often come down to drink. A small veranda with deck chairs at the front of each chalet allows you to soak up the view. The spacious room is furnished with leather seats, a coffee table and a writing desk, a charging station and a flask of drinking water. Up a step are twin beds or a double with bedside tables and reading lamps and a ceiling fan above. The en suite bathroom is spacious, with two hand basins, plenty of mirrors, a deep free-standing bath, an indoor shower and an outdoor shower accessed through a wooden door. A flushing toilet is in a separate cubicle. Toiletries are supplied, as is laundry soap for washing delicates.
