Iguazú Falls is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the largest waterfalls on Earth with over 275 cascades plunging through rich Atlantic rainforest. As a multinational park and nature reserve, Iguazú protects an astounding diversity of tropical wildlife. Red-breasted toucans, capuchin monkeys and a myriad of colorful tanagers and tropical butterflies are seen as we explore Iguazú, provided with impressive views of the falls in every bend of the trails.

Brazil: Iguazu Falls National Park Sample Itinerary

    Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro / Iguazú National Park

    Fly to Foz do Iguazú and proceed to Hotel Das Cataratas, our hotel for three nights. This is the only hotel located inside the national park. Although known internationally as Iguassu Falls, locally the falls are called both Iguazu Falls (Spanish) and Iguaca Falls (Portuguese). The falls are located on the border of Brazil and Argentina and not far from Paraguay. (D)

    Iguazú National Park

    Explore the Brazilian side of the falls for a morning of wildlife viewing and continued time to appreciate the scenery of the falls from a panoramic perspective. After lunch at a local restaurant proceed on exploration of rainforest trails where we may encounter Agoutis, Coatimundis and Plush Crested Jays and/or take an adventurous whitewater motorized boat tour into the falls.     Iguazú National Park

    This morning we explore the rainforests and scenic wonders of incredible Iguazú falls in Argentina. Observe a variety of tropical wildlife, including brown capuchin monkeys, red-breasted toucans, chestnut-eared araçaris and a variety of colorful butterflies. Savor an Argentean style lunch with grilled sausages and meats. Continue exploring the rainforest trails in the national park before returning to Brazil for the evening. (B,L,D)
