What kind of visas are required for travel to Kenya & Tanzania?
U.S. and Canadian citizens are required to have visas for Kenya and Tanzania travel . Each country requires a separate visa, one for Kenya and one for Tanzania. Your Kenya visa is best obtained upon arrival at Nairobi International Airport (NBO). Your Tanzania visa can easily be obtained at the Namanga border crossing upon your arrival into Tanzania. This is a very easy and cost effective way to obtain your visas and we highly recommend it. The current cost for a Kenya visa is $50 per person. The current cost for a Tanzania visa is $100 per person. Note that credit cards, Canadian dollars, traveler’s checks and personal checks are not accepted. There are no passport photos required. The visa fee is subject to change without advance notice.
Are vaccinations required for Kenya & Tanzania safaris ?
Proof of yellow fever vaccination is required to enter Kenya or Tanzania only if arriving from a yellow fever affected area. Kenya and Tanzania are yellow fever affected areas so arrival from Kenya into Tanzania requires proof of yellow fever vaccination. No other immunizations are required. The CDC recommends that all travelers to East Africa be up-to-date on vaccinations for measles/mumps/rubella (MMR), diphtheria/pertussis/tetanus (DPT), poliovirus, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, yellow fever and typhoid; however, you should consult with your personal physician.
What kind of safari vehicles are used in East Africa?
International Expeditions is very selective when it comes to modes of transportation within each destination. Every segment of our programs, and their environments, have been studied to determine which type of transportation best suits your wildlife viewing needs. IE uses specially equipped, 4x4 Land Cruisers. These vehicles comfortably accommodate six passengers, each of whom is guaranteed a window seat for unimpeded game viewing and terrific photo opportunities. And every Land Cruiser will be accompanied by an experienced driver/guide. All of our vehicles are equipped with VHF radio communication.
