IE Art Director Charlie Boyd has spent the last four days on our Galapagos Islands tour aboard the Evolution, and has cell service as he heads toward Santiago and Bartolomé. Charlie has checked in with a list of what his Galapagos travel group has spotted while exploring San Cristóbal, Española and Santa Cruz.

It’s embarrassingly easy around International Expeditions to get blasé about destinations like the Amazon or Galapagos — they are such staples of the company that we often feel like everyone has “been there, done that!”

So in sharing a moment of my Galapagos Islands tour, I think it is a true testament to the power of travel and of Darwin’s “Enchanted Isles” that I still get emotional.

Travel Planner Charlie Weaver (shown here in Patagonia) has spent the past seven days on International Expeditions' Amazon River cruise and has cell service as La Amatista heads back toward Iquitos (go figure!).

11:00 a.m.: Our excursions are amazing! We have  seen lots of pink dolphins, blue-and-gold macaws, hoatzins, a chestnut-eared araçari, an emerald tree boa, a fer-de-lance and numerous other birds.
