My trip up the Peruvian

My trip up the Peruvian Amazon was one of my favorites. We really felt far away from civilization as we know it. We watched a shaman "treating" a patient, fished for piranhas and ate thrm for dinner, looked up at the cloudless skies loaded with stars, and never saw a plane flying overhead. I could go on and on. It was a pefect adventure experienced in comfort.

The first time I saw the Catalog on the Amazon Voyage, I just had to go. In November of 2009, that dream came true. The adventure started in Lima and did not end until I arrived back home in Kentucky. Everyone was so nice and helpful. I did not realize that I was so uneducated in the ecological and natural world around me. Jorge and Hernando were so totally informed about the Amazon and the surrounding region, that I was just soaking it all up like a sponge. This was an incredible adventure and a dream come true.

I always wanted to do two

I always wanted to do two things: 1. Cross the Equator and 2. cruise the upper reaches of the Amazon.

Because of a picture I saw on another web site of the Amatista, I was able to connect with I.E. and take my wife and oldest granddaughter, Sherilyn, on this excellent adventure.

Everything and everybody associated with the cruise from the Cruise Directors (Jorge & Hernando)and the guides (Georgie Boy & his cousin)to the crew of the Amatista were outstanding resulting in the experience of a lifetime.

A million thanks to I.E.
