Oswald Huma – Naturalist Guide

Oswald Huma was born and raised in West Timor, Indonesia, and moved to Jakarta to study small entrepreneurial management. Working in the tourism industry since 1986, Oswald began his career as the Operations Manager of a local tour company. Outside of the office, Oswald has also led groups through his country, including islands that had never been visited by Westerners before. He has served as the travel guide for film crews shooting in the islands, including a documentary on the effects of whaling and the movie Ring of Fire II. Oswald has been involved with many birding and nature expeditions to previously unexplored areas of Flores, Timor, Sawu, West Papua, Java and Sulawesi.

Jorge Salas – Expedition Leader

Jorge is a favorite among International Expeditions guests, having led expeditions to the Amazon, West Africa, Antarctica, Orinoco, Patagonia and Papua New Guinea. Jorge has been leading groups for more than 19 years, and brings with him a contagious enthusiasm. In addition to his interest in natural history, Jorge is an avid photographer, with one of the most complete wildlife (he's photographed more than 1,200 species!) and travel stock portfolios of South America. Jorge is a true "foodie" who has published stories on high-altitude cooking, writes restaurant reviews for the Lima, Peru media, and has even researched the Andean herbs used in pre-Inca cooking.
