Berenty Lodge – Berenty Reserve

The simple accommodations at Berenty Lodge, the reserve’s only hotel, are designed to blend with nature and provide a comfortable base for exploring Madagascar’s oldest and most famous reserve, Berenty. Berenty Lodge is arguably the best place on our Madagascar safari to observe lemurs up-close.

Please note that Berenty Lodge is also known as Gite d’Berenty and Gite d’Etape. They are the same property known by different names.

La Croix du Sud – Fort Dauphin

La Croix du Sud is a colonial style structure designed over two levels around a courtyard garden. Madagascar's historic links to France are clear in the steep sloping metal roofs and ornate wooden carvings along the roof line. All of the 30 rooms face inwards to the courtyard. Inside rooms are clean and fresh looking, with brightly painted walls and large windows looking out into the garden. Each room has satellite television, air-conditioning and an en-suite bathroom.
