Make the most of your time in Uganda and spend a day prior to your safari in Entebbe. Your day is spent being introduced to the birdlife and primates of Uganda as well as spending a touching afternoon at the Paper Craft project meeting local women.
Days 1 & 2
U.S. / Entebbe
Fly independently to Entebbe, Uganda, staying at the Laico Lake Victoria Hotel. (Meals Aloft)
Day 3
Entebbe / Kampala
At the Entebbe Botanical Gardens, established during the colonial era, enjoy strolling paths through the garden’s superb collection of indigenous trees and shrubs. You can also observe the area’s rich birdlife and may see vervet and colobus monkeys. Tour Kampala’s city center and visit the National Museum. We also stop at the Paper Craft project. This community project is a locally run company which uses natural materials like banana leaf, pineapple and elephant grass, to make various kinds of paper, soaps, jewellery and crafts. During our visit, the local women demonstrate the process of paper making – a hands-on demonstration if you want to try the craft! (B,L)
